We treat many recreational and elite athletes with a variety of sports injuries in our clinics. The majority of our physiotherapists have worked with adults in professional sports teams and children / adolescents in elite academies. A number of our physiotherapists have also played sport to a high level so they understand the pressure and frustration that comes with being injured. We get our patients back to their sport as soon as possible and provide them with the knowledge and advice which will significantly reduce the risk of re-injury.
If you attend one of our clinics with a sports injury you will receive a comprehensive assessment, an appropriate hands-on treatment (which could be a cortisone injection, spinal manipulation, massage, ultrasound, interferential therapy, taping, passive stretching) and you will be guided through a staged home / gym based exercise programme to optimise the rate of your recovery and limit the risk of injuring the same area in the future.
We treat an extensive range of sports injuries including:Neck pain AC Joint pain (common in contact sports) TendonitisTendonitis of the shoulder Tennis Elbow Golfer’s Elbow Wrist pain Slipped Discs and Trapped Nerves Lower back pain / Sciatica Mid back / Thoracic Spine Pain Groin strain Hip bursitis Runner’s knee Jumper’s Knee ITB Friction syndrome Shin Splints Knee ligament injuries Ankle ligament injuries Muscle tears Achille’s tendonitis Plantar fasciitis
There are specific conditions that affect children and adolescents. Many of the conditions have names that make them sound extremely serious and this can very worrying as a young athlete and a parent (For example; Osgood Schlatter’s disease and Scheuermann's disease). Our physiotherapists will be able to explain the condition to you in simple terms, provide reassurance and advice and provide hands-on treatment when appropriate.
